How about an Other Artist area under music, for news such as this;
James Taylor Digs Into 'Covers' This Fall James Taylor will release a covers collection featuring songs from the '50s, '60s and '70s on Sept. 30 through Starbucks' Hear Music label. The album, appropriately titled "Covers," will be available at both traditional retail outlets and Starbucks locations.
The 12-song set finds the singer/songwriter and his "Band of Legends" tackling songs from artists such as Big Mama Thorton ("Hound Dog"), Leonard Cohen ("Suzanne") and Junior Walker & the All-Stars ("(I'm A) Road Runner")
The album is Taylor's first studio release since 2002's "October Road" and his second for Hear Music. He partnered with the label to release "One Man Band," a live CD/DVD collection, last November.
Taylor and his band have been road-testing the new material during his summer tour, which wraps this week with two shows at Red Rocks outside Denver.
Here is the track list for "Covers":
"It's Growing" "(I'm A) Road Runner" "Wichita Lineman" "Why Baby Why" "Some Days You Gotta Dance" "Seminole Wind" "Suzanne" "Hound Dog" "Sadie" "On Broadway" "Summertime Blues" "Not Fade Away"

I'm not trying to cause trouble or anything, but I've really never understood the appeal of James Taylor. I'm really into the singer-songwriter thing, but there's something about his music that I don't really like.

What don't you like? I love some of his stuff and find other stuff mediocre or dull.
I'd be interested to know your views.

Well I've only really heard his biggest hits, so I admit that my opinion isn't the most informed. I dunno, it's just something about the quality of his voice that doesn't appeal to me I think. His songs don't seem fundamentally bad or anything. They seem a little hokey at times, but that's not really a huge problem for me.
