I'm not crazy about either candidate. I'm considering writing Jimmy Carter in.

From what I can gather I think America will bottle out of voting for a black president and McCain will get in.

Right now, Obama has the big lead in all the polls. And everyone's pretty much anti-McCain cause they see him as a Bush clone. I think the only way McCain could win is if; 1. another terrorist attack here 2. We go to war in Iran.

I wanted Mike Gravel to win so very much. Unfortunately, not enough other people did and he didn't get the Libertarian nomination. *sigh*

I have gone back and forth about Obama. Sometimes I see him as a sheep in wolves clothing and sometimes I hold onto his words and really believe that he will bring my country back and begin by respecting the other countries in this big ole world.
I am mostly heartbroken that this is the choice we have. A demented, old war monger and an idealistic, young, inexperienced slick talker.
My final resolution has come to this, nations rise and nations fall and the USA has fallen. It use to terrify me but, I do believe that it is not time for resolution or revolution. How else can we explain this apathy us Americans have had for so long?
Sure, there are internet rages in the form of blogs and sites. Then some with flowery messages of peace and love. But no real action. No action. Raging on internet sites accomplish NOTHING. And I'm not pointing fingers. I am just as guilty. Why don't I start a revolution? I'm not blaming anyone.
My anxiety about this has shrunk...I am going to let it be...I have a deep faith so praying has what I have been doing non stop.
I am now just waiting I guess.

I agree, and I do the same. It's so much easier to say something's wrong than it is to rise up and do something about it. I have a friend who says speaking out on the Internet is better than ignoring everything like it doesn't even exist, but really, what good does it do? It just helps us see sometimes that we're not dead yet, the way I see it. Perhaps that is accomplishing something.

Well, I do believe its set up (I'm a conspiracy theorist) lol on purpose by the powers that be to have people think they are making a difference while they take away our rights etc. Sitting behind a computer does nothing to help imho.

I'm a conspiracy theorist as well. Sitting behind a computer doesn't help, but neither does protesting. I think if people really want change, well, drastic measures are called for, and I don't have the courage to do any of it or even lend a hand. Big Brother's winning. I'm just a good little girl, trying not to get on Mistress U.S. Government's bad side.

Well said. The patriot act has ensured that we all act appropriately and not cause any waves. So very sad for us all eh?
