Alright; 1974 Cleveland Stadium Jesse Collin Young The Band Carlos Santana CSNY
$10.00
This was my first big concert and my first date with the lady that's my wife. I was pretty blown away and have seen over 800 concerts since.
Stills/Young Amazing show. The energy was electric. If you don't know, this tour was cut short because Neil and Steven were'nt seeing eye to eye. Again, in Cleveland which is two and a half hours from where I live, so five hours of driving. My wife, and another friend went. The friend ended up being one of those annoying folks in the crowd who kept yelling "Neil Young", like the man did'nt know his name.

Yeah jeez he really hasn't lost it at all, I was so impressed. The only downside of the concert was these really drugged up and incredibly loud people in the seats behind me. They ruined Old Man by essentially yelling the lyrics, and one of them kicked me in the head at one point. But still, it was fantastic! Out of curiosity DBTR, did he play A Day in the Life for the encore of your concert?

Yeah, he did. Best version of that song I've ever heard in my life. And he ripped the strings off of Old Black at the end while she was still plugged into the amp. And he played the most amazing version of "Cortez The Killer" I've ever heard. And I'm so so so glad I decided to wait to see him to listen to "Just Singing A Song", because it was so beautiful and it was such a treat to get that one fresh from him that night.
There was a fight right beside me before Neil came on. A couple of guys started wailing on each other and rolling on the floor until security took one of them out. It was crowded and sweaty and no one would let me move up, but oh god Neil was so worth it. And I sorta kinda snuck some pictures even though we weren't supposed to have recording devices in the building. I didn't have my car there, I'd taken a Greyhound up to Chicago, and so I couldn't go put my camera out in my car, but that turned out to be a good thing. I was terrified they were going to confiscate my camera because they were searching everyone. The guy searching my bag asked what that was in the bottom (I was sure he'd found my camera case O.o) and I decided to play dumb and asked, "What, my glasses case?" and he let me go!
What drives me completely batty is that there are torrents available for the December 4th, 7th and 12th show, but not for the 9th! It was like that was the only show no one decided to put online. I know it was recorded. I saw video cameras right up against the stage. I swear, I'd pay for a video of that show. *sigh*

Saw Neil in Sydney (Australia) last Saturday 24th Jan 2009. Awesome show but we here in Australia are getting a bit short-changed. Most of the shows are only obout 90 minutes that encores with a beatles song (Day in the life). Can't quite get my head around that! albeit, a cracking version all the same. Carn Neil, I travelled 3,500km to see you in Sydney, now I'm back in Perth (Aust) another 3,500km to see you at the Big Day Out show. Give us Powderfinger and My My Hey Hey for a close

I saw him live about three weeks ago in the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena... Still haven't gotten over it! Definitely the best concert I have EVER seen, pure magic from start to finish.

I've seen Neil twice - the first time was in 1982 at Wembley Arena during the Trans tour. My memory of this night, corroborated by someone I went with, was that he just played material from Trans - or at least he used the Trans technology on every song - consequently you couldn't really hear his voice as everything went through the vocoder thing he used. I've since looked up the setlists from the tour and found this not to be the case - it lists things like songs from Harvest, Like a Hurricane etc etc - along with some of the Trans material. The second time I saw him was Saturday in Hyde Park - which felt to me like the first time really as I have no memory of him doing anything 'Neil Young' like in 1982. I don't think they have the correct setlist on the setlists website (http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/neil-young/1982/wembley-arena-london-england-6bd1f236.html - either that or he did the whole somg in Trans mode. Can anyone else who went in 1982 and remembers it clarify?
